In the previous post, I talked about how I accessed the translation platform and my first experience exploring the WordPress translation site. In this post, I will discuss my experience making my first real contribution to the Costa Rican Spanish translations for WordPress.
As I mentioned before, the process was quite straightforward. The translations are not overly complex, and since I understand English well, I was able to work through them without major difficulties. For my first contribution, I decided to start with a single string rather than taking on a large number of translations at once. The text I translated was essentially a description of a feature or configuration option within the Astra theme.
Overall, I did not encounter any significant challenges. I simply completed the translation, submitted it as a suggestion through the platform, and I am now waiting for it to be reviewed and approved by the WordPress translation team. I am also very excited to continue working on the remaining translations and to keep contributing to this amazing community. Being able to help make WordPress and the Astra theme more accessible to Costa Rican Spanish speakers is a rewarding experience, and I look forward to contributing even more throughout the course of this project.
