Post 2: Setup and Preparation

For this first post, I would like to explain why I chose the Polyglots area. I was particularly interested in languages and translation, especially in helping people who are not native English speakers or who do not have a strong command of English. This is especially important when using a platform such as WordPress for website development and many other purposes.

That is the main reason why I chose this area. From my understanding, my task will be to translate a number of text strings, which may include literal translations of WordPress function names as well as descriptions explaining what specific features or buttons do within the platform.

As for the tools required, I will mainly use the WordPress translation platform, where the translation project is hosted. From there, I will access the Astra theme project and contribute by translating the available strings into Costa Rican Spanish.

Additionally, I created a WordPress account where my contributions can be tracked and reviewed, including the exact time they were made. This account will serve as a record of my participation and progress throughout the project. I have also attached an image showing my newly created account as evidence of this initial setup step.
